We went with my in-laws to the Houston Rodeo on Friday!
This was only my second time, and I LOVED it.
Ryan got "Oooh'ed" and "Ahh'ed" over, so he was just lovin life.
Anytime there is a free gift involved (especially something like a t-shirt) with a challenge,
Aaron is signing up.
He had to do 20 pull-ups in a row in front of the Marines to get a t-shirt.
Haha he's a go getter.
He proudly wore his marine t-shirt yesterday.
Oh and of course he had to win Ryan something at the carnival-
He shot a couple hoops and won Ryan his first basketball
which he carried around the rest of the day.
I got myself a turkey leg that was heavier than Ryan.
During the rodeo,
I cheer for the calf to get away.
I hate watching them rope the calves and then wrestle them to the ground.
Ask my parents, in-laws and husband I seriously cried the first time I saw it last year.
It makes me so sad! (clearly did not grow up on a farm ha)
Poor little calf!
My favorite part is watching the Muttin'bustin.
Little kids holding on to sheep for their dear lives.
Totally signing Ryan up for that one day.
Blake Shelton performed. SO good.
We got Ryan ear plugs,
come to find out they were glow in the dark ear plugs- Genius!
He was a great first timer:)

That's entirely way too much Polo for the rodeo. I'm buying you all plaid, western shirts for next year.
ReplyDeleteI love rodeos! How fun! I'm counting down the days till I can sign my toddler up for muttinbustin too.
ReplyDeleteOH.MY.GOSH. Karina, we were at the stock show/rodeo all day Friday too! Totally probably saw you guys or walked right by you at one point! Such a small world. Wasn't it CRAZY buzzing with people? We could hardly push the stroller around! We had tickets to Blake Shelton too but they were standing room only and we didn't feel like standing the whole time so we waited outside while my in-laws watched the concert...they said he was great. I didn't have a turkey leg (they looked yummy!) but I did have a giant cone from Marble Slab :). Ryan looks precious in that last picture!
ReplyDeleteOK!! That just made me so sad!! We need to meet up!! Um, we stood in line for like 15 minutes for ICE cream!? How did we miss you guys!
DeleteHow fun! I have never been to a rodeo but I bet I would cry at the calf being tackled too! Ryan is adorable! I love that last picture in the cowboy hat! What a cutie!
